new label that was was recommended to us by hotflush label owner paul rose who knew recondite from a local berlin hangout. we immediatly liked it because this is clearly done for the love of the music. pressed in a ultra limited 200 copies run (of which a first batch have been given away already to friends of the label owner) we managed to get the remaining copies for you. four tracks of deep techno that is a collection of snapshots of recondites daily live. somehow melancholic, adventurous and lush tracks that also can be found in the productions of labels such as dial. dont sleep on this one!!

as we are preparing for tom tragos new album, which is due early 20100, we close off toms voyage direct release with the third and final remix ep. this time up and coming amsterdam local dj and beat maker fs green comes up with two remixes, giving both tracks an surprising, new feel. while the more downtempo vibe of his remix of voyage direct wouldnt have been out of place on a beat dimensions release, his remix of lost in the streets goes uptempo and has a cross over dance floor potential. banging! it comes as a limited edition, green vinyl edition.

empty vessels ep is phil kierans debut on electric deluxe. first making his name as much-loved resident dj at the legendary shine club in his hometown of belfast, phil kieran has transitioned from local hero to main stage headliner in grand style.

g.i.disco - an 80s history of cold war s hottest music in west-germany berlin local dj heroes kalle kuts and daniel w. best a.k.a. g.i.disco have compiled an excellent 80s soul, funk, r & b and disco selection. it combines representative music of that time with informative liner notes about the german historical background (which also is an important part of 20th century s world history), international artist quotes and worldwide renowned art by berlin based photographer frank thiel to an unique history lesson and listening experience. soul, funk and r&b from the us became a worldwide dance and clubbing movement during the 70s when it turned disco. in the late 70s and 80s more and more new electronic instruments like synthesizers and drum machines were added to the horn riffs and piano licks, bringing the funk back on the dance floor while still leaving it s soul untouched. although a global success story, it played an interesting role especially in the german experience. lp comes in gatefold sleeve.

zak aka dvs1(devious one), is one of the most prominent figures in the minneapolis dance music landscape today. a local dj favorite since the mid nineties, dvs1 continues to move floors with a combination of deep musical knowledge, unparalleled enthusiasm, and a vinyl collection of more than 10.000 records. as a promoter he has been responsible for putting together some of the most memorable lineups and successful events of the past 2 decades, and his advanced understanding of sound design/architecture has built a reputation of unqualified excellence for his promotion company, hush. zaks deep roots and his bold and uncompromising nature have won him great respect as a passionate and outspoken defender and promoter of quality music.

the eleventh episode of disco deviance comes straight out of liverpool in the uk from the emerging talent that is cosmic boogie. starting out as a collective (inspired by local dj legend greg wilson) based around the cosmic boogie website, which is dedicated to pushing groove based music and knowledge about the scene, cosmic boogie has developed into a dj persona and quality imprint in its own right.

quality house ep with vocal & deeper tracks to keep fans of this great label more than happy..! dynamodyse is the deepest german we know and he is hailing from dortmund, usually only known for sausages and the odd good result of the local football team. as we dont believe in stereotypes and we have been listening to loads of superb teutonic house music these last years, we never questioned the association between the words deep and german and we just listened to the music. safe to say it blew us away.

aux-rec is being launched by airdrop records as an offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute. aux-rec surveys musical history looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way. at airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! we feel aux-rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music.
the existing airdrop roster of artists will be invited to contribute to aux-rec, but different artists will also be uncovered specifically for this project. off to a fresh start, franco cinelli and club rayo (a duo composed by rafael sorol and pablo terreil) engrave their long-time friendship on this record. franco cinellis first productions were released on the duos imprint club rayo disquets at the beginning of the millenium. the club rayo collective has been extremely active in the local argentinean scene for more than twelve years now.
going back to one of music historys greatest classics, >fever<, franco cinelli and club rayo bring their own interpretations to a theme that has known as many versions than people taking a sing at it in the shower! using ella fitzgeralds and elvis presleys voices, club rayo create repsectively the fitzgerald mix - a rocking dancefloor jam looping ellas fantastic voice bringing it to a culmination - and the king dub - a 118 bpm groove punctuated by elvis low-pitched and resonant tone. cuerdas is a short guitar instrumantal rendition of the fever theme. on his remix, franco cinelli creates a 10 minutes drum symphony, especially designed for the post-climatic hours. both producers kept in mind ellas famous quote when undertaking this great enterprise: >i stole everything i ever heard, but mostly i stole from the horns.<

a record which was originally slated for the fee records catalog, but never made the cut... one life to live was released on the private 4 reel label in 1980, limited to local distribution of only a small handful of copies. its back, but we are sad to say the artist passed away last year before he could see his re release realized.

supported by stephan bodzin, kombinat100, mathias schaffhäuser, p.toile ..... again that laid-back, humorous and open-minded character of the people of mecklenburg glistens from the grooves of the available acker record. this time it is represented by the gentlemen schaeufler, who is an essential part of the local producer and dj scene since many years, and zovsky, who was musically socialized in trancy sceneries and shows a remarkable versatility. set di dol comes around on a powerful, pushing bass line, precisely placed percussions, minimal melody fragments and an exotic vocal sample make this track distinctly stimulating. after that the two dudes pick up the relaxed and cosy atmosphere of every day, which originally hails from the easy listening genre, and garnish it with reduced but very effective rhythms. on the flipside, the radio version puts this remix even more in a nutshell and finally acker mister mollono.bass presents his version of set di dol on the flipside: based on his typical, bouncing groove, he creates a frisky and somehow tropical atmosphere, using refreshing xylophone sounds and a proper portion of tribalistic percussions

the third instalment of the apres vinyl series explores the indie disco dimensions of future classics 2 year old sunday afternoon session in sydney. when we commissioned gemma smith to produce four artworks for the series this angular and intense piece sat well with the spiky hot chip meets junior boys disco punk funk of melbourne 3 piece clubfeet. it also worked with adelaides sidwho, another promising newcomer whos recent 12inch on cage & aviarys the walls have ears imprint got rave reviews from horse meat disco, mock & toof, tim sweeney and optimo to name a few. millionaire is an early taster of the pop sensibilities of sids forthcoming solo album with future classic. sids also a member of the modular signed live disco act the swiss. chad and nathan took some time out from the future classic hq to turn in a remix of millionaire together with good friend bryan o callaghan who also happens to be head chef at the tilbury where aprÞs is held. bryan quickly became a firm friend of future classic after mudd and aeroplane were booked for sets at apres with bryan seeking us out, immediately impressing us with his unparalleled knowledge of rare disco and groove. last but definitely not least (since it made the a1) came pink frosts remix of evening star by another local sydney band todd sparrow. after a heavy vinyl digging session at redeye records,the stores vinyl buyer scott, handed nathan a cdr and the call was made then and there and we had our third apres release - an intentionally all australian installment!

altair nouveau consists of one brandon mitchell, a young producer from the west coast currently residing in san francisco. altair nouveaus music, though designed with the dance floor in mind, still evokes a personal element. it is the combination of these elements that give altair nouveau his indistinguishable larger than life, spaced-out future disco sound sure to cause a dance floor frenzy. raised in the sprawling city of san jose, california to musical parents. mitchell grew up with the encouragement of his father, an electronic music teacher at the local community college. brandon began educating himself by collecting albums from the likes of giorgio moroder, vangelis, ennio morricone and john carpenter. this gave way to newer acts such as in flagranti, prins thomas, lindstrom and several artists on dfa. the title track æspace fortress marks a bold and exciting introduction into the sonic landscape of mr. nouveau, combining g funk, p funk and a 4/4 disco foundation that adds up to something otherworldly altogether. released as a joint effort with the uber-hip dfa records this 12 features mixes exclusive to this release from ultra-talented irishman john daly who turns out a deeper take while michel morins criminally underrated nom-de-plume sneak-thief takes it deeper into spacey disco-funk territory.

after being influenced by mix-tapes of artists such as richie hawtin, dustin began writing music purely for fun. shortly after, dustin met future-partner ian lehman, who was established in the mid-west rave scene. ian explained to him that music similar to his was played at parties called raves. ian invited him to one of his shows and dustin took his offer to see what he was talking about. after being exposed to just one party, dustin knew this was his future. dustin started doing a live pa at various local parties and quickly became a favorite. after a year, dustin stepped up to the decks and won just as much respect as he did with his productions. in early 2001, dustin and ian both agreed to take things to the next level. they put a halt on bookings and concentrated on the studio. a year later their work had emerged onto vinyl and all over the internet, creating a serious buzz. abiotic was born, and the duo formed the attack people. a few words can easily describe dustin zahnÆs style: moody, tribal, dark, and hypnotic. since dustin co-founded abiotic recordings with ian lehman in 2001, heÆs finished projects for labels such as livewire records (detroit), analytic trail (italy) and invasion (belgium). his tracks have been received support from techno producers such as redhead, adam beyer, danilo vigorito, tim xavier, ben sims, chris liebing, dave clarke, umek

the latest addition to the muzic box classics series will feature a genuine ron hardy edit and another ole school track from the music box that was produced by a local producer known as mr k alexi. the ron hardy edit is very rare and has not been heard by many outside of the music box, chicago. the b side is a track that includes a sample of rons first ep on trax records entitled >sensation<.
